Southern Utah is a land of
wonder. In this 9 days tour, I visited 4 national parks and monuments
in this magnificant land. Each park offered different experience and greatness.
The famous of the two, Canyonland and Arches NP were the most impressive;
they were the tour-de-force of magnificant canyons, arches, and strange
looking rocks. Capitol Reef NP and Great Staircase Escalante NM, the lesser
known parks, were also great; they had petroglyphs to a big waterfall
in a middle of desert rock land.
On the way to Utah, I drove
along US Highway 50, National Geographics Society described "the
loneliest road in America." There was a national park, Great Basin
NP, on the way as well. On the way back to California, I drove to Mammoth
Mountain Ski Resort to meet my friends for memorial weekend skiing. Otherthan
dislocating my shoulder, I had a great time skiing and snowboarding in
the resort.
