4th (Sunday) and 5th (Monday) Days

Last day in the Grand Canyon trip. Another 5 hours of driving. This time, I paid a lot more attention to the speed. The MGM Grand hotel we stayed, can be the largest hotel I have ever stayed. At least the queue at the check-in counter was the longest I've ever seen in a hotel. It was just like an airline counter. It was also very slow as well.

Anyway, we discussed what we would do in the Las Vegas. "Do we want to see a show?" But which one? Well, we ended up walking through this latest "theme" hotels. I guess it was worth it. Actually, I rather liked it. The weather was nicer at night. The fake hotels look very impressive at night under the neon light. Yes, it was just like a Disneyland.

The best object in the city for me was the Eiffel Tower. No surprise? A fountain against the Eiffel tower. How can you take a bad photo here?

In the Caesars Palace. This is a rare occasion when a photo looks better than the real. The haze in the photo was not as clear for my eyes. I was really happy when I took this photo. The blue water on the right hand side of this photo is an aquarium. It is just amazing how much $$$ hotels/casinos spend to jazz up the place.

The first hotel we've been to was the New York NY, just opposite from the MGM hotel. MGM hotel is a boring building to watch but it has a lot of neat objects inside. Contrary to the MGM, the New York New York offers skyscraper, Manhattan Bridge, and of course, the Statue of Liberty were at their display. It has small New York itself within the hotel. Impressive stuff.

The most impressive of all for me was the Caesars palace. This one has entire Italian city (Roman city?) inside. They even had skylight which changes itself from mid-day to sunset. I took a lot of photo inside the hotel.

Other impressive objects are; pirates ship, Hotel Bellagio and its fountain show, another fountain with volcano, Harley and Davidson restaurants, etc. We visited several more hotels, wander along the strip, took a lot of photos, then went back.

I came to visit Las Vegas 10 years ago. The city is now completely renovated itself. By the way, how to take a bad photos in Las Vegas? How about shooting photos during the day light? They must look very different under the sun light :)

In Caesars Palace. I always wanted to travel to Italy. Now I do not have to go there anymore? Well, maybe not. I bet the food in Italy is much better than here. How come food here taste ... so ... awefu-, er, greasy?

The amazing Mono Lake. Please pardon the airline for not washing the windows as often. This is worse than my car! Maybe I should learn how to clean up such mess using latest digital technology...

The last day of this trip started very early again at 4:00 am to catch a plane to Phoenix. Except the one hour delay at the Phoenix airport, everything went well. On the way back, I was ready to capture some Sierra-Nevada. This time, the flight was slightly different; it went through the Yosemite.

The Grand Canyon trip was very memorable one. Also I took so many good photos. Probably anyone can do that in the Grand Canyon where great shutter chances are so abundant. Thanks Ravi for the patience with me during the trip, as well as the guidance in the Las Vegas. Thanks Peter for many advises and telling us about the trail. Although I could not make it to the end, I will definitely come back to visit the Plateau Point. And thanks everybody who read my trip report. I hope you enjoyed it.
