Exploring Japan and Its History
This is a trip report of Japan. But I would like to add more about its history. I hope this will help more people understand Japan. And it would help enjoying more about trips to Japan knowing its past. But oh my god, it is a lot of work!
Nikko/Toushou-Gu
Nov. 22, 2001
The last person who laughed at the end of long Civil War was Tokugawa Ieyasu, who created the Edo-Government in 1603. After his death, he has became a Holy Spirit of Japan to protect its land and prosperity. Toushou-Gu is the temple for Ieyasu, and built by the best craftmen. The gorgeous and powerful structure is just impressive, yet the massive old ceder trees gave this place a peaceful atmospher.
Kami-Kouchi

One of Japan's most publicized mountain beauty is Kami-Kouchi. I went vist this place filled with tourists to see fall colors. Every bit of It was worse the fame.
Kyoto In Late Autumn
Nov. 26~30, 2001
Kyoto is the city to visit in Japan. It was a simple plan to enjoy the history and fall colors of late autumn. Kyoto was definitely an amazing place filled with Japanese history and beauty. Although the peak was a week over, the fall colors still looked impressive. I would like to visit Kyoto again. (Reference History of Kyoto)
One Month in Tokyo
September, 2001
Finally, I was back in Tokyo after twelve years of living in the US. Here's some photos of Tokyo I took in the first month, September 2001. It was a really bad month for everybody.

COMING UP SOON: Minamoto Yoritomo started the first government by Samurai in 1180. It was here in this small city of Kamakura where he revolutionized Japan.
